About
The fresh-looking Trainwreck is a mind-bending sativa-leaning hybrid that delivers effects like a freight train. This attractive marijuana strain landed in the cannabis world with a spicy taste reminiscent of pepper.
Like other sativa-dominant hybrids, it leaves a very intense cerebral high following mood-boosting and euphoric effects. This predominantly sativa (65% sativa, 35% Indica) retains its Indica effects, and the users feel as if it has surrounded their body with a nice, warm, pain-numbing buzz.
Origins
This Northern California staple, Trainwreck, stemmed from three landrace cultivars Thai, Mexican and Afghani. It owes the dominant sativa side to Thai and Mexican parents that build up its powerful mentally stimulating effects, while it receives Indica genetics from the Afghani plant.
Its name Trainwreck implies an interesting story. Long ago (more than 30 years), two brothers secretly grew cannabis, away from the curious eyes of their neighbours, in Arcata, an idyllic town in California.
One night an accident happened near their house that was located near a railroad. The train tragically derailed and crashed, which made police and emergency responders rush to the site.
These two brothers destroyed all the marijuana plants (they were afraid that their horticultural activities would come to the limelight) except one precious that somehow or the other came to the present day, known as a Trainwreck.
Effects
This unique cannabis strain shows THC content up to 25% in some tests, so newbies should stay at an arm’s length from this potent strain. It induces an incredibly intense psychedelic high that also feels narcotic. Once its speedy train like effects kick in, the smokers feel themselves at its mercy, so it is not a strain for newbies.
Initially, this high is euphoric that brings a flash of creative thoughts and inspiration. The users feel energetic and want to perform something productive without feeling any trouble. The effect also depends on the tokers’ tolerance level and the amount of the plant consumed.
